Changed my mind

The neat thing about quilting is the ability to redo things, at least until it's quilted.  Then it's too late, of course.  Last post I showed you some blocks I am putting together, small Bow ties.  I had a few lights in there and was going to keep them, but my friend came over and after she looked at the blocks, her comment was, "I don't think I like those", and I knew she was right.  So, after she left I changed them.  I'm much better satisfied.

I do like this so much better.

Thanks to my friends that gave me the tip to open in Google Chrome to post the pictures.

Blogger problem

Blogger problem!  I can't get this silly thing to post pictures from my computer.  I'm not crazy about blogging without pictures, it adds so much to the ones I follow.  I've look for help, but so far nothing worked.  If anyone has any suggestions let me know.

On the quilting front, I have cut out and started on a swap.  I'm making 12 Cowboy boots.  The pattern is from a Fons and Porter issue some time ago.  So far I have 1 made.

I have also been cleaning some in the sewing room.  I'm beginning to see some progress in there.  Also, I've organized 2 of my leader ender projects to make them into quilt tops.  One is the Cheddar Bow tie, the other is a pattern from the Addicted to Scraps column from Quiltmaker by Bonnie Hunter.  I have 3.5- 4 patches and am making blocks that use solid cheddar and red.  They are turning out real well.  The organizing has helped move these projects along.  I'm using the trays I bought this summer, they work well for setting up blocks I'm making a lot of.

On the Wall

My first pictures for 2013.

I gave some thought as to what I would focus on this year.  When I went in to my room, I realized it's time to make some quilts with my leaders and enders from last year.  So, that's how this year will begin.  First, I have sewed 2" squares in four patches all year.  I've looked for a pattern I liked and finally settled on one from Bonnie hunter's addicted to scraps series in Quiltmaker magazine.  I had gotten a beautiful cheddar solid and have been wanting to use it.  I think I will love this quilt.

Then I found this leader ender challenge on Bonnie's site.  She had this going after finding an antique quilt.  I'm not totally happy with the light bow ties, so I made more.  That is my usual answer to a color that doesn't play well.

This is the small box I have, but it doesn't take much to make a block.  This quilt will be as large as the bow ties I have.  These finish 3.5 each.
And lastly my first finished project for 2013, although knitting.  I've wanted to knit socks for a long time and finally bite the dust and started.  Took a lot to get over my hesitation in making socks, but I keep after it and finally have a pair.  I'm so pleased with the end pair.
