Close to finish

My English paper pieced project is coming along great.  I put the border on and put up choices for binding after putting on the border.  I plan to quilt it after my sewing room is back together.

Sewing room renovation or "dust up"

I made the decision to replace the carpet in my sewing room.  The process of emptying the sewing room has been very busy.  I filled the dining room and then some went into the computer room.  That's only part of the procedure.

The bare bones of the sewing room now.  The closet will not have the  floor changed since this is installed and not movable.  The big piece of furniture with shelves on top DH broke down and removed.  Still some items to move yet, but the installer will move out these pieces of furniture left in the room.  I plan to redo the design wall and use a different kind of shelves not found yet to store what was on the previous furniture piece.  I will need to cull a lot to set my room back up.  Since I have two rooms full of the stash, it will have to be done soon.  Oh my!

Time out for a retreat

Went to,  Prairieville, LA, for a small quilting and eating retreat.  There were five of us, including a loving pet dog who liked to chew on things. I took one set of swap blocks and got half  of the needed amount done. Also work on my red and white quilt.  I,ll get a picture later before I post this. We also watched some inspector Alleyn and Midsummer murder on Netflix. I got some knitting done and Jo Ann got some crochet done. It was all great!

Kitty Corner red and white  blocks so far
The scrappy blocks A & B are for a swap in Happy Scrappers.  I completed the remainder after coming home from the retreat.

The red and white is from a pattern in Fons and Porter magazine called Kitty Corner.  I want to come up with a more creative name.  I saw a quilt in the pictures online of the show in New York just this pattern.  What I know is that F and P didn't know the original name for the block and called it Kitty Corner.  This quilt will be for me.
