Alex's quilt
Alex came to visit and I was able to talk with him about what kind of quilt he wanted.  He at first said he wanted blue and white with Police written all over it.  He drew me a picture and I started asking about blocks.  Of course he's eight and wasn't aware of what I was going for.  So, I got out graph paper and did my best at drawing out a simple but effective plan to sew and make him happy.  He gave it his stamp of approval then I started pulling out fabrics.  We settle on the color blue, but he refused any flower fabric in his quilt.  I got a laugh out of that.  So now I can start cutting fabric and making blocks and get this one underway.  I'll be posting pictures in progress.
Alex drew the quilt he wanted
I took graph paper and drew it out.  I'll be using pin wheel blocks and  nine  patches

Pin wheels I've made so far

I also started cutting letters on my Go cutter
June 14
Progress so far on Alex's quilt.  I started with scraps from Leigh's tee shirt quilt.  Then pulled blues while Alex as here and basically let him say yea or nay on color.  He told me emphatically no flowers.  Chose two blocks and started cutting out letters.  As I sew on his quilt, I'm working on leaders and enders and works in my mind, namely a scrappy hour glass quilt from a magazine. And it's done,  Took this to retreat in Palestine a d got it sewed. So glad to be done with this one,

Pioneer Braid
This quilt top was finished, but wasn't wide enough.  I decided to add more to it.
