Surprise

Got this in the mail one day and I was very surprised. I had posted a picture on Stash busters site and one lady wanted the pattern. I finally found the magazine in my sewing room and sent ti to her. She sent this in return. I thought that was very sweet.

Jelly Roll Quilt Sampler

Block 11 of the jelly roll sampler. I'm not too satisfied with my color choices, but won't be doing it over.

Ashleigh's quilt

Ashleigh's quilt top is finished. She designed the inside and I put on the border. I have to get the back done and soon will do that and take it to be quilted.

Ashleigh and Quilting

Ashleigh came for a weeks visit. The plan had been for she and I to make a quilt. I started by cutting fabric and as I did so she was putting blocks on the design wall and designing her quilt. She then learned how to safely use a sewing machine and how to sew a seam. We worked together on her quilt all week and got the body of the quilt put together. I want to finish the border and get it quilted for her. I think she really enjoyed herself and I loved being able to pass on the quilting skills. We have plans to make another next summer. She said she wants to make a quilt in colors her best friend likes so when she spends the night she'll have her own quilt to lay under.
She's proud of her work.

Jelly Roll Block 10

Block 10 had several ways to put the block together. I decided I like this setting the best. to me is it looks like spools, anyway, I like it.
