Some progress in the sewing room

My daughter requested a scrapping tee shirt quilt for her retreats.  She wanted certain blocks in the center and her favorite pj material in the quilt too.  I had the hardest time finding a fabric that seem to bring it all together , but keep similar color as the tie dyed block.  Finally, after much looking I found this fabric in Baton Rouge.   Of course, at first I didn't buy enough, but I had a chance to go back and get some more.  Then the issue of the back.  I found this fabric at home in my LQS.  It had the movement of the batik, but is cotton, so it will be comfortable to sleep under.  Notice the use adding of the pj fabric on the back.
My friend Polly will be quilting it for me and I'll bring it to my daughter Leigh for our annual scraping retreat together in TX.

A Great Retreat

I went to a new retreat center in Baton Rouge, well new to me, with seven other friends.  It was a really great place. Some many things that quilters need to sew and cook and have fun.

I tried to get some shots of the sewing sitting and cooking areas.  In other words the critical areas.  Sleeping included nice single beds and plenty of baths.

The owner is a quilter too and she had quilts everywhere.  Plenty of design walls too.  We all had a really good time.

I worked on this row quilt as a project for a bee called slightly bias.  I needed to add 12 inches and did so on the top and bottom of the row Robin stated her quilt with.  Lots of sewing but I did enjoy working on it, and was glad to pass it on to the next person early.
