Christmas with My Bees

Table runner Exchange from Becky
I'm late posting these pictures since Christmas.  First set are from our project for Christmas in our Happy Scrappers Group.  You could participate if you chose and I did.  You can see my runner here
that I made.   Everyone puts their table runner in bags that are all the same purchased last year, then we draw numbers.  Anyway we go one at a time and get to see what everyone made.  It's lots of fun.

Row quilt project at Slightly Bias

This quilt top is the result of a row by row project in the Slightly Bias group.  I start with a row.  My row came from Sept. blocks from a previous exchange.  It's to be 60 in. wide.  We are put in to groups then every two months we swap them around.  Since I'm retired and taught at Maplewood Elementary for 18 of my 20 years teaching, my friends put the name and dates I taught there plus the name of my school.  This means a lot and I do plan to quilt it.  In looking at this picture though, I believe I'll move one of the bottom rows to the top.  We'll see.

End of the row quilt

I started with this much done before me.  The quilt measures  65 in. to begin with, which meant everyone had to adjust.  Then just looking I didn't know where to go.

I decided to stay with pinwheels to match the top, sorta, and use some bright s.

I adjusted fabric as I went along.

Finally, after getting my blocks done and used the persons material to adjust the sides.

Over all it turned out good I think, but am truly am so glad to be done with row quilt.  I am not getting into one again, unless I know the expertise of the other participants.

On the wall

Got my next Row quilt and I think I'll be doing applique on this one.  Machine of course and I plan to see about finding one of my dies for flowers..

Time for Lotto blocks and got the next ones made.  Got a little carried away and made 3. This pattern is great for 2 in. strips and 3.5 in squares.  I got lots of those.

A little update on scrap cutting.  Got a pretty good pile of 8.5 squares and 6 in squares for triangles.  Plan to make "Shattered dishes", a pattern for triangles by Lynn Roddy Brown.

Lots of this to work on on mental health days.

Row Quilts

In one of my groups, this year we are doing row quilt.  We started in Feb. and do 12 in. to the other person's row.  As we pass these along it grows and at Christmas the original owner gets the quilt.  We are to put fabric with it, some don't add enough sometimes.
It's a challenge to figure out what needs to go on the quilt next.
The first quilt I got and I added the top and bottom rows.  In the picture the blocks haven't been sewn yet.  It turned out real pretty.  It was simple to add stars since the person started with stars.

This quilt started with the Madri Gras them.  I felt the two rows of 12 in. blocks needed something different.  Since the blocks contained pin wheels and stars, I thought this would be a good addition.  I had to add some material to this quilt.
